SLV Emergency Alerts and Emergency Preparedness

Call 911 in an emergency. Find EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS information and sign up to receive EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS by phone or text at SLVemergency.colorado.gov. The San Luis Valley Communications Center (State Patrol Dispatch) uses the “Everbridge” system to issue notifications when there is an emergency situation in a particular area (previously “Reverse 911” and “CodeRed”). You MUST SIGN UP to receive notifications. During some emergencies, local authorities will share information to the public on the website and on social media. Some emergency messages, like Amber Alerts, use a different system that messages phones in a certain area. To receive those notices, make sure the settings on your phone are set to ALLOW emergency notifications. This does not work on all cell phones.
