Many therapists in the San Luis Valley area are listed here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists. Some use virtual computer meetings so you can stay at your home and get help.
There is also a Valley-Wide Health Veteran Outreach Program – Contact Craig at rauwolfc@valley-widehealth.org and 719-937-3925. Leave a message if he does not answer. You can look on FaceBook or call or go to the SLV Behavioral Health group at 719-589-3671 8745 County Rd 9 South in Alamosa – they have a 24/7 Crisis response team. Or you can ask around if anyone has a counselor they like — check with your friends, colleagues and where you worship.
VETERAN Peer support is also available at www.objectivezero.org and here: https://www.rallypoint.com. MakeTheConnection.net connects Veterans, their family members and friends, and other supporters with mental health information, local resources, and Veterans own inspiring stories of recovery. Visitors can learn about the signs of mental health conditions or substance use problems and find sources of support. The site is free and accessible to everyone.
